"Clearly it is an aspiration to get the cup final back as a day on its own, without other matches," Bernstein said, after the FA announced Budweiser as lead partners of the tournament.
"We are working very hard with the Premier League and other authorities to do that. I am fairly hopeful we can deliver that.
"We were very pleased with the cup final last month that when there were other important league matches the cup final dominated the day.
"The credibility of the cup final was reinforced by that and hopefully everyone will see that and see it is the right thing for football that the cup final assumes that tradition of having a day to itself."
