When it comes to selling comic books for a living, this is a childhood dream come true. Just imagine your job is to open the new shipments of the latest comic books straight from the printers. Being amongst the first to not only see the great art work but read the latest adventures of your super heroes.
All day long you would be surrounded by not only all the comic books of your collection, but make a living at it. By selling and trading comics you can be there were the art work is most enjoyed and valued. Not everyone appreciates this art form, but it is an art form all to itself.
The best thing about selling comic books and having a comic book store is that when those parents that just want to unload their son's treasure on you and say" give me what you can please" it's like finding a treasure chest. Not only do you get them at a volume price, but you get to sift through them. That is what is most enjoyable for me. Looking at what I had just purchased without know exactly what they are. Usually the stacks are too big to give an accurate estimate and the parent just says "give me what you can". Most are impatient and just want to leave. Their impatience is your advantage. Give them a fair price, depending on the overall condition. But you will always come out ahead of this type of deal.
Because the profit margin is not too high when you are in the business of selling comic books, most stores have other accessories including the old metal lunch boxes and pencil boxes. The figurines are also very popular and big sellers. Do not limit yourself but if you are like me, the comic books are the center piece of the store. Selling comic books is a joy and a great business to be in.
