A producer who has worked closely with Farrah Fawcett noted yesterday that the famous actress’s cancer has gotten worse and appears to have spread to her liver. She is currently recovering from complications arising from a medical procedure that she recently had in Germany. "She had a minor procedure. That procedure led to a small amount of bleeding into a muscle in her abdominal wall," said her cancer specialist, Dr. Lawrence Piro. Piro described the procedure as "simple" and one that is fairly standard, though he also noted that Fawcett has also pursued experimental treatments in Germany.

Fawcett’s producer, Craig Nevius, said, "She’s on the mend and will be going home very shortly. She’s doing fantastic. Her fight goes on. She’s not going anywhere anytime soon." Fawcett, who is 62-years-old and is possibly best known for her role on "Charlie’s Angels" was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006, which she had treated at UCLA with chemotherapy and radiation. Though the cancer was said to have been in remission in February, 2007, a few months later the cancer had recurred and metastasized to her liver, according to Nevius.

When reporters asked about the treatments Fawcett was receiving in Germany, Nevius would neither reveal where she had been in that country nor what procedures she had undergone. "It’s never had anything to do with stem cells," Nevius noted, who then went on to rule out such treatments as shark cartilage, coffee enemas and detox diets. "It’s much more scientific than that. It’s not a fringe treatment," he noted.
